For the 1st time in school history the Girls Track & Field team has won a state title.  The program was the state runner up in 2007 and the state title is the school’s 7th overall title joining the 89′ & 91′ Girls Cross Country state teams, the 01′ Boys Soccer state team and the 12′, 13′ & 14′ Boys Basketball state team.  The Eagles were led by an outstanding performance from Junior Chika Amene who won 3 individual state titles in the 100 meter (12.71), 200 meter (25.71) & the 400 meter (58.83).  Amene was also a member of the state championship 1600 meter relay team along with Senior Rebekah Wilson and Juniors Kaelin Ray and Shelby Goodson.  The 1600 relay team also set a new school record finishing in 4:07.37.  Ray won the state title in the 300 meter hurdles breaking her own school record in a time of 45.98.  Ray also finished 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles (15.47) and was a member of the 3rd place 800 meter relay along with Goodson, Sophomore Grace Sanders and Junior Grace McFerrin that finished in 1:49.10.  Congratulations to Head Coach Todd Crouch, Coach Porter, Coach Pitt and the Girls Track & Field Team on capturing the MHSAA Division IV State Title!  Pictured back row L-R, Coach Porter, Grace McFerrin, Rebekah Wilson, Grace Sanders, Caroline Keating & Coach Crouch.  Front row L-R, Kaelin Ray, Chika Amene & Shelby Goodson.
