Game Recap

The football team lost their season opener at Oakland Christian 39-13. Oakland Christian got off to a fast start scoring 20 points in the 1st quarter off 2 Eagle turnovers. Oakland Christian would continue their fast pace into halftime taking a 33-0 advantage. The young Eagle team would continue to fight and claw back in the 2nd half finally breaking into the scoring column in the 4th quarter on a 62 yard run by Senior Cameron Sanders, followed by the made PAT by Senior Jonathon Sullivan. The Eagles would score soon after when Sophomore Blake Parpart found Junior Daniel Wiggins on a 21 yard touchdown reception. Parpart would end up 8-24 passing for 190 yards and a TD while Wiggins caught 5 passes for 53 yards. Senior Richard Perry had 3 catches for 61 yards while Sanders rushed 11 times for 97 yards and a score. Sophomore fullback Ian Hanafee barrelled his way through the line on 10 carries for 74 yards while also leading the team in tackles with 7. Senior Jackson Hart had 5 tackles.
