Volleyball Wins the Oakland Christian Tournament

The Lady Eagles dominated the Oakland Christian tournament Saturday going 5-0 and winning every set.  In pool play the Eagles defeated Franklin Road Christian 25-15 & 25-17, Everest Collegiate 25-8 & 26-16, Oakland Christian 25-18 & 25-18 and Academy of the Sacred Heart 25-12 & 27-25.  In the championship game the Eagles defeated Everest Collegiate again 25-17 & 25-13.  The team was led on the day by Sophomore Emily Van Dyke who had 41 kills, 30 digs and 11 aces while Senior Kaelin Ray had 45 kills & 21 digs.  Sophomore setter Rachel Stiteler had 93 assists, while Junior Grace Sanders had 11 assists and Senior Keirsten Mitchell had 26 digs.  The team improves to 6-0 on the season and they will travel to Academy of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday for dual match at 6 PM.  Photo by Melissa Davis.
