Game Recap

The football team got their first win of the season at Star International Academy tonight 35-8. The Eagles started the scoring in the 1st quarter when Senior Cameron Sanders ran for 47 yards for a touchdown. The team would add a safety in the quarter as the Eagles led 9-0 after 1. In the 2nd quarter the Eagle defense would score again when Sophomore Nolan Hart ran back a 30 yard interception for a score. The Eagles would add their 2nd safety before scoring on a 35 yard pass from Sophomore Blake Parpart to Sophomore Caleb Glenn as time expired in the 1st half as the team would take a 23-0 lead into the break. In the 2nd half the Eagles would get scores from Sophomore Gabe McFerrin’s 35 yard pick 6 and when Junior Matthew Guerra recovered a fumble in the endzone. Starr would get on the board late with a 50 yard run. On the night Parpart would pass for 141 yards and a touchdown while getting an interception on defense and Sanders ran for 134 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. Sophomore Ian Hanafee led the team in tackles with 7 while Senior Richard Perry had 2 INT’s. On the night the Eagle defense had 5 interceptions while Robert Reynolds, Caleb Glenn and Christopher Grace all had sacks. The Eagles are now 1-2 and will host Detroit Public Safety next Saturday at 2 PM at Seaholm High School.  Picture courtesy of H. Fracassi.
