Game Recap

The football team lost at Lutheran Westland tonight 20-14. Westland got off to a quick start driving down on their opening drive for a score. The Westland defense would then force a fumble and then drive down again to take a 13-0 advantage after one quarter. The Eagles would cut it to 13-8 by half on an impressive drive that ended with a 43 yard catch and run for a touchdown by Sophomore Caleb Glenn with Sophomore Blake Parpart converting the 2 point conversion on the quarterback keeper. In the 2nd half Westland would add another score late in the 3rd but the Eagles responded again on a 19 yard reception by Junior Danny Wiggins to end the scoring for the night. Westland was led by the running attack of Dillon & Jake O’Reilly. Dillon rushed 22 times for 88 yards and a score and Jake rushed 11 times for 51 yards and a score. For the Eagles Parpart completed 15 of his 26 attempts for 188 yards and 2 TD’s while Sophomore Nolan Hart caught 4 passes for 72 yards. Wiggins had 6 catches for 58 yards and Glenn had 5 catches for 58 yards. On defense the Eagles were led by Sophomores Ian Hanafee & CJ Sexton with 13 and 11 tackles respectively. The Eagles fall to 1-5 (0-3). The team will be off next week as their game against Cesar Chavez will become a forfeit win, which means the Eagles next will be Friday, October 13 at 7 PM at Berkley’s Hurley Field against Parkway Christian for homecoming.
