Saturday morning the Cross Country team competed at the Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard Invite at Hudson Mills. Giovanni Van Grinsven got our team started off this morning running in the JV race. He got out fast and quickened his stride cutting off 4 minutes from his previous time with a new personal best of 28:08. Next up were the ladies. Alexis Donnan had a great race, getting out fast and pushing through all the way to the finish. Alexis placed 21st earning her third medal of the season with a new personal best of 22:22. Kayla Williams and Isabelle DeGaynor each ran strong races both dropping nearly two minutes from their previous times this year running 25:02 a season best, and 27:06 a personal best.
Tyler Kowalski was our top guy again this week earning his second medal of the season and racing to a new personal best of 18:30, taking off nearly a minute from his best time. Tyler ran a very consistent race and in his final sprint to the finish he was able to pass one final runner to earn 24th place earning the last medal. Ashton Glenn raced to his personal best as well, 21:07, chopping well over a minute off of his season best. Kris Matthews was our final runner of the day also running his season best of 22:51.
The entire team saw great improvement. As the temperatures are dropping so are the team’s times. The Eagles look to drop more time as they head to Spencer Park on Tuesday and then the Conference Final at Westland on Friday.
