The Eagles track team competed at the Blackhawk Invite on Saturday at Leslie High School. The girls team finished 5th overall and were led by Sarah Christenson and Grace Ligon who each brought home 4 medals. Christenson finished 2nd in the 100 meter (13.98) and the long jump (15-08) while leading off for the winning 400 meter and 800 meter relay teams. The 400 meter relay of Christenson, Kendyll Martin, Kennedy Kirklin, and Maya Wright finished in 54.9 seconds while the 800 meter relay of Christenson, Martin, Wright, and Ligon finished in 1:56. Besides anchoring the 800 relay Ligon finished 2nd in the 400 (1:09) and 3rd in both the 100 (14:04) and 200 (29.38). Also earning medals for the ladies were Martin finishing 3rd in the 200 (29.59), Carly Ervin finishing 6th in the discus (63-03), and Alexis Donnan who was 6th in the shot put (23-04) and 2nd in the 3200 (14:41).
The boys team finished 8th overall and they were highlighted by the 400 meter relay team of Will Brown, Kris Matthews, Ashton Glenn, and Tyler Kowalski who finished 2nd in 48:37. TJ Donnan rounded out the medals for the boys finishing 5th in both the 1600 (5:08) and 3200 (11:29). The Eagles will compete next on Tuesday when they travel to Whitmore Lake for their second MIAC Jamboree at 4:30 PM
