Game Recap

The football team fell to Parkway Christian at Berkley’s Hurley Field tonight 53-7. The Eagles night was highlighted when Senior Cameron Sanders ran 60 yards for a touchdown. Other highlights were Junior Robert Reynolds fumble recovery and run back of 63 yards and Sophomore Caleb Glenn’s INT. Defensively Sophomore Ian Hanafee recorded 12 tackles. The Parkway Christian attack was led by the two headed monster of Julian Davis and Maurice Hutchinson who each rushed for 3 touchdowns. Davis finished with 169 yards on 10 carries and Hutchinson had 102 yards on 15 carries. The Eagles fall to 2-6 (0-4) and will wrap up the season next Friday at Genesse.  Picture courtesy of H. Game Recap

The Eagles were successful in avenging an earlier loss in the season agains Franklin Road on Thursday night.

SCS had to comeback from an early 2 goal deficit in the match – the Warriors struck first and scored 2 goals early in the first half. Midfielder Andrew Sanders responded to the challenge when he found the back of the net midway through the first half. Junior midfielder Jack Ross would follow with another goal to bring the match even before halftime.

With a renewed confidence, the Eagles began to dominate in the 2nd half and added 3 more goals to the board. Jack Ross found the net again along with Andrew Sanders. Junior Ben Rathnaw would add a goal of his own to the mix end the context 5-3.

The Eagles will host Arbor Preparatory Academy on Friday afternoon (10/13) for the Homecoming Match and attempt to avenge a 2-1 loss from earlier in the season.

Game Recap

The Eagles from Southfield and the Eagles from Parkway ended the match in a draw on 10/5. Although each team had moments and opportunities, no one was able to find the back of the net in this 0-0 draw.

The SCS Eagles record their first tie of the season as they head into a short break before their final conference match against Franklin Road.

The volleyball team defeated Parkway Christian on the road in straight sets 26-24, 25-17 & 26-24. The Lady Eagles were led by Senior Kaelin Ray with 13 kills and 8 digs while Sophomore Emily Van Dyke had 10 kills and 11 digs. Senior Keirsten Mitchell had 27 assists and Freshman Eden Kalaj-Rice had 3 blocks. The Eagles improve to 22-3-2 (5-2) and will visit Lutheran Westland on Tuesday at 6:30 PM.

The volleyball team lost to Plymouth Christian at home tonight in 4 sets 28-30, 22-25, 25-19 & 22-25. The ladies pushed the number #1 team in class “D” throughout the whole night with an intense back & forth game. Southfield Christian was led by Senior Kaelin Ray with 10 kills & 17 digs while Sophomore Emily Van Dyke had 9 kills and 14 digs. Senior Keirsten Mitchell had 21 assists, Junior Grace Sanders had 5 aces and Freshman Eden Kalaj-Rice had a career high 5 blocks. Sophomore Caroline Keating had 14 digs in her varsity debut. The Eagles fall to 21-3-2 (4-2) and will hit the road Thursday to visit Parkway Christian.

Meet Recap

The Ladies team had a great night at Spencer park in their second MIAC Jamboree, the ladies finished 4th overall. All of our ladies saw great improvement each running their season best time, six of those times were personal bests. Madelin Chau lead our girls team finishing in 9th place with a personal best time of 23:11, Holly Smith finished 2nd for our ladies in 12th place (24:00) followed by Kayla Williams who also finished with a personal best time dropping an impressive four minutes from her time. Kayla was followed by Bella Stephens, Kendall Huff, Asia Tally, Tori Richardson and Victoria Wagner, all showing great improvement.

Meet Recap

The Cross Country team had a great night at Spencer Park! The entire team saw great improvement with all of seven of the guys posting their season best time, with 5 of those being personal bests. Carter Adams lead our team taking 4th place in 17:07, followed by Eric Wagoner in 18th breaking 20 minutes for the first time running 19:08. Jacob Brink finished 3rd for our team (3nd, 20:42) followed by Jonah Stephens (35th, 20:53), Jonathan Scott (42nd, 21:47), Jalon Adams (47th, 22:25) and Micah Nelson (53rd, 22:49).

The volleyball team edged Lutheran Northwest on the road tonight in 5 sets 25-19, 17-25, 22-25, 25-19 & 15-10. The Lady Eagles were led by Senior Kaelin Ray with 21 kills and 13 digs while Sophomore Emily Van Dyke had 21 digs and 14 kills. Sophomore Rachel Stiteler led the team with 33 assists. The Eagles improve to 21-2-2 (4-1) and will play host to the current 1st place team in the conference and #1 team in the state Plymouth Christian on Tuesday at 6:30 PM.

Game Recap

The Eagles traveled to Westland on Tuesday in a conference match against Huron Valley Lutheran.

The Hawks struck first catching the Eagles watching just minutes into the game. Their lead would not last long though as sophomore Chris Davenport persistent play in the offensive third brought the match even. Getting their feet back under them, the Eagles would score twice more in the first half – a goal from junior Ben Rathnaw and another goal from Davenport.

Feeling confident coming out of halftime, the Eagles would control the entirety of the second half. Junior Khari Wilson would find the back of the net for the Eagles, along with junior Jack Ross and freshman Luke Hanson.

The Eagles will travel to Parkway Christian on Thursday for a conference rematch.
